Merry Christmas to you all.

Manfred Speicher and I would like to wish you all  the best for the festive season.

For stocking ideas how about Caress II? She is free to a good home!

A person wearing a Santa hat and white beard sits at the helm of a Schärenkreuzer sailboat on a sunny day, surrounded by calm water with trees and boats in the background.

Some of you may recall that Remy owns a Mylar 30 in France which is coming along nicely..

A white sailboat with a red keel, likely one of the classic Square Metre Yachts, sits on a trailer inside a large metal shed; various materials and wooden planks are stacked on its deck, and another covered boat is nearby.

Syndicate Program..

Would you like to own a sqm yacht? If so you would benefit from sharing time and resources to  maintain and race a sqm yacht. We are facilitating a Syndicate Program. With 4 yachts currently available with different requirements to be able to get them out on the water we have a good selection to choose from. These yachts don’t come on the market too often. With interest in class growing it is a good opportunity to get involved in a yacht that will inspire some of the best moments you can have on
the water.

If you have an interest in joining a Syndicate please email us with your details and I will  contact you with the possibilities based on your interests.

Around the yards..

The lovely 50sqm Plym is at the top of my wish list for Santa.
I have a feeling I have been too naughty and the sleigh would need to be enlarged…
A chance too see her up close is a good early Christmas present.

Here she is getting some varnish work done and some teak decking resealed.

A classic wooden Schärenkreuzer with a polished deck is moored at a marina, surrounded by other sailing boats and calm water, with buildings and trees in the background.
A close-up view of a Schärenkreuzer cockpit, showing polished wooden benches, deck, and trim, with a wooden tiller and shiny metal winches—classic details of these elegant Square Metre Yachts floating on calm water.
A close-up view of a wooden sailboat deck with polished wood finishes, ropes, and nautical equipment—this Schärenkreuzer exemplifies the elegance of Classic Sailing Yachts, berthed at a marina with other boats visible in the background.

Revisiting Fagel Grip Pt3

Fagel Grip continued..

A close-up view of a Square Metre Yachts hull under construction inside a tented area, with scaffolding and support structures surrounding the classic sailing vessel.

A mirror finish is achieved and the epoxy used for her restoration is all West System.

A close-up view of a Classic Sailing Yacht's deck inside a marquee, showing a wooden structure, a metal winch, a hatch, and some fittings on a white surface. The background is a fabric enclosure.

A nice 2 pak paint finishes the deck with her original cockpit coamings revarnished leaving her with loads of her original character.

A person in a blue jacket works on the hull of a white Skerry Cruiser inside a covered workshop, with the boat elevated on supports.
A close-up of a varnished wooden Skerry Cruiser interior shows curved beams and two round portholes, with light reflecting off the glossy wood surface.

Nothing like a good thick layer of varnish to bring out the best in the timbers.

Interior view of a wooden boat showing polished benches, white structural ribs, and parts of the steering wheel and flooring, reflecting the craftsmanship typical of Classic Sailing Yachts such as Skerry Cruisers and Square Metre Yachts.

The beginnings of the cockpit sole

Two people work on a wooden Square Metre Yachts model under a marquee. Tools, clamps, and bricks are arranged on the boat, with one person holding a white object as the other works in the background.

Teak is used to create the new cabin top.

Wooden hatchway entrance with sliding doors leading below deck on a Schärenkreuzer, surrounded by polished wood surfaces, fittings, and controls. The area appears clean and well-maintained.

Wow a good case of simple is often best!

Person standing barefoot inside a boat hull with curved ribbed walls, wooden and white panels on the floor, and blue tape marking sections—a scene reminiscent of Classic Sailing Yachts. A cable hangs from above.

Again a lovely simplistic design using the varnished timbers to good effect.

A white Square Metre Yacht is being worked on in a covered outdoor area. Tarpaulins and scaffolding surround the Skerry Cruiser, whilst a person crouches nearby, appearing to perform maintenance or repairs.

She is relocated to the outdoors for some antifouling and the finishing touches.

A smooth, cream-coloured boat hull is positioned upside down on a workbench inside a workshop, reflecting the classic lines of Square Metre Yachts. Green mesh and white fabric panels add contrast in the background.

The new stern section is finished and ready for bolting to the hull.

Well that’s all folks…
The story of Fagel Grip continues in the new year.
